FAQs- Questions people ask me

What do you do?

I help individuals who want to become a doctor to navigate the process. I train them to do MMIs and traditional interviews. I also work with individuals graduating from medicine applying for residency programs.

Do you work with clients who don’t live in Toronto?

Absolutely. If you are in Toronto or close to Toronto I prefer to meet with you face to face. Otherwise, if you live a long way away we will converse over Skype.

What is covered in the personal statement and short answer work?

I look at content, organization, language and style.

May I use your services just for my personal statement and short answers?

Yes.

What do you cover in a mock interview?

I review key questions and how to answer them. I direct you to materials for the preparation of MMI interviews and advise on the type of skills required to manage them successfully. I review your answers to the questions, along with your behaviour: speaking style, dress, demeanor etc. The aim is to send you off prepared and confident to do your best.

I already know what some of the interview questions will be…why do I need to do a mock interview?

Having an idea about a few of the questions is one thing. Being comfortable speaking your answers to someone else is entirely different, particularly to someone who has coached many people through the process.

How much time will it take?

Please see the coaching page to determine the time commitment with me.
